There are 60 Utility Boxes within the Downtown Berkeley Area. All of them are grey. The 60 boxes project will work to transform these boxes into art.

Using the theme “Sustainability” we will create 60 mini-murals on the boxes around town and create a “walking tour” website for the public.

Earth Island Institute has support from the Civic Arts Commission to produce this effort, secure funding, hire artists and begin painting. All images will go the Civic Arts Commission for final approval.
